Fitness Fact

Sometimes I check out Shape magazine – don’t judge – and this month there was a great little blurb about dancing that I wanted to share with you.

From pg 119 – “A recent study from Oregon State University found that dancers have less belly flab than non-dancers – even when their weight and total amount of body fat are the same. High intensity activities (running and biking count too) trigger the release of cortisol – a hormone that helps burn calories. And there are more cortisol receptors in your ab area than any other part of your body.”

Neat, huh?

Just another incentive to get your booty to Dance Dance Party Party. Great fun and good exercise.
